To draw this Paraceratherium step by step, follow along with the video tutorial below and pause the video after each step to draw at your own pace. You may find it easier to follow the step-by-step drawings below the video. The new lines in each step are shown in red, so you'll know exactly what to draw next. The Written step-by-step video tutorial:

For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.

Step 1: Draw a circle near the middle of the paper as a guide for the front part of the Paraceratherium's body. To draw the circle, first make four small marks to indicate its height and width. Then connect the marks using curved lines. If you're struggling to draw the circle, just trace the outer rim of a small, circular object like a coin or a lid. Step 2: To the left, draw a slightly smaller circle as a guide for the back portion of the Paraceratherium's body. Draw this circle lower than the first one. The edges of the circles should touch.

Step 3: On the top, right side, draw yet another circle as a guide for the Paraceratherium's head. Place this circle high up away from the body so that the neck will be long. This circle should be about one-fourth the size of the first circle.

Step 4: On the right side of the head, draw a small, sideways arc as a guide for the Paraceratherium's muzzle.

Step 5: On top of the head, draw two small, thin arcs as guides for the Paraceratherium's ears.

Step 6: Under the body circle on the right, draw two long, vertical lines as guides for the front legs. The longer these lines are, the longer the Paraceratherium's legs will be. Bend the tips a bit to indicate the feet.

Step 7: Under the circle on the left, draw two more lines as guide for the Paraceratherium's hind legs. The lines should bend near the middle. This will indicate where the joints will be later. The lines should slope down to the left near the middle before bending toward the bottom.

Step 8: Draw two long, sloping lines that connect the head to the body to create the guide for the Paraceratherium's neck.

Step 9: Draw two lines in the middle to finish the guide for the torso. On the left side, draw a vertical line for the Paraceratherium's tail.

That's it for the guides! From this point on, press harder with your pencil for a more defined Paraceratherium drawing.

Step 10: Inside the head, near the top, right, draw a tiny circle for the eye. Inside the eye, add a dot for the pupil. If you have room, you can also draw an even tinier circle for highlight. Draw a couple of short, curved lines around the eye for the eyelids and wrinkles.

Step 11: Inside the muzzle, draw a small, slit-like shape and shade it in for the Paraceratherium's nostril. Draw a short, curved line over the nostril for the skin cover.

Step 12: Use the initial arc as a guide to draw the muzzle. Follow the basic path of the arc as you darken the shape of the muzzle but curve the line to the left for the mouth. The shape of the mouth should curve up and then back to the left and end at the edge of the initial circle. Draw a short, curved line under the Paraceratherium's mouth for the lower lip.

Step 13: Darken the small arc on the top, left side of the head for the first ear. Make the shape pointier at the top. Stretch the base of the ear in toward the head. Add a few lines inside the shape for the ear's structure. Use the arc on the right as a guide to draw the Paraceratherium's other ear in a similar way.

Step 14: Use the initial circle and arc as guides to draw the rest of the Paraceratherium's head. Darken the outer edges of the guides but make the shape of the head a bit thinner in the middle. The top part of the head should be a bit flat. The bottom should be curved for the big jaw. Draw a series of short lines inside the shape to give the head more structure.

Step 15: Use the second line from the right as a guide to draw the Paraceratherium's first front leg. Follow the guide and lightly sketch the shape of the leg around it. The top or base of the leg should be very wide. The bottom should be narrower but still thick like tree trunks. Make the lines wavy to indicate the knee joint. The foot at the bottom should be thick.

When you get the shape of the Paraceratherium's leg right, darken the lines. Make the middle section of the leg curvier for the knee. At the bottom, draw a few short lines to separate the toes and draw a couple of small arcs for the nails. At the top of the leg, draw a series of curved lines for the folds of skin.

Step 16: Use the line on the right as a guide to draw the other front leg the same way. Lightly sketch the shape of the Paraceratherium's leg around the guide and only darken the lines when you have the shape right. Make the knee and the foot wide. Draw a couple of lines at the bottom for the big toes. Draw a couple of curved lines on the tips of the toes for the nails.

Step 17: Use the angled line on the far left side as a guide to draw the first hind leg. Draw the shape of the Paraceratherium's leg around the guide. The top part should be wider than the top part of the front leg. The shape of the leg slopes to the left and then bends down after the joint. When you get the shape of the leg right, darken the lines. Draw a series of curved lines along the leg for wrinkles that are similar to a rhinoceros' skin. Draw a series of curved lines along the leg for wrinkles that are similar to a rhinoceros' skin. Draw the toes at the bottom using curved lines and the nails using small arcs.

Step 18: Use the last line under the body as a guide to draw the Paraceratherium's other hind leg the same way. Draw the thick shape of the leg around the guide. Most of the top part will be hidden behind the body. Draw the toes at the bottom using short lines and the nails using small arcs.

Step 19: Use the remaining lines and shapes as guides to draw the rest of the Paraceratherium's body. Simply darken the outer edges of the initial guides to create the shape of the body. Draw the tail around the guide on the left. At the tip, draw a few short strokes for the hair on the tail. Don't overlap the shapes of the legs that are on this side of the body as you darken the lines. Add a few curved lines inside the body for more folds of skin.

Step 20: For a cleaner look, erase as much as you can of the initial guide lines. Don't worry about erasing all of the guides. It's okay to leave some behind. Re-draw any final sketch lines you may have accidentally erased.

Final Step: Add some shading to your drawing for extra detail. Paraceratherium is related to modern-day rhinos. Its skin may have been gray too, so use a medium value all over the body. No one is exactly sure what the Paraceratherium looked like, so you can shade yours differently if you'd like. You can add stripes, spots or even color to your drawing! Add more shading to give your figure more dimension and volume. Use a darker value for the shadows. Vary the pressure on your pencil to get different degrees of tonal value. Pick the direction of the light source when shading so that the shadows are consistent with it. Add the value lightly at first. Gradually make it darker until you're happy with the result. Don't worry about shading too smoothly. The rough value will give the Paraceratherium's skin a bumpy texture. Continue adding shadows to the entire body. Don't forget to pause the video to draw at your own pace.

Add a cast shadow underneath to ground the Paraceratherium so it doesn't appear to be floating.
