To draw Godzilla step by step, follow along with the video tutorial below and pause the video after each step to draw at your own pace. You may find it easier to follow the step-by-step drawings below the video. The new lines in each step are shown in red, so you'll know exactly what to draw next. You may want to open the video in a new tab and use both drawing methods. Take your time and draw at your own pace.
For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.
Step 1: Draw a circle near the top of the paper as a guide for the top part of Godzilla's body. First make four marks to determine the circle's height and width. Then connect the marks using curved lines. With every step, sketch lightly at first so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. If you're struggling to draw the circle, just trace the outer rim of a circular object like a coin or a lid. For a more detailed guide on the different ways to draw a circle check out this tutorial: Four simple ways to draw a circle.
Step 2: On the lower, right, draw another circle the same way as a guide for the bottom half of Godzilla's body. Use the four-marks method to draw this circle too. This circle should be slightly bigger than the first one. Pay attention to the placement of this circle. Don't draw it directly under the first one. Place it off to the right.
Step 3: On the top, left, draw a circle that's about one-fourth the size of the first circle as a guide for Godzilla's head. The circles should be very close to each other, and they should all have a diagonal orientation.
Step 4: Draw a small, sideways arc to the left of the head as a guide for the top of this monster's muzzle. To draw the arc, make a small mark to the left of the head, and then connect the mark to the head using curved lines. Below that, draw a thinner arc that slopes down to the left a bit as a guide for Godzilla's lower jaw.
Step 5: Draw two lines that connect the head to the body as a guide for the neck. Draw two more lines that connect the first two circles together to complete the guide for Godzilla's body.
