The Written step-by-step video tutorial:
For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.
Step 1: Draw a circle near the left side of the paper as a guide for the mole's head. To draw the circle, first make four small marks to determine its height and width. Then connect the marks using curved lines. Sketch lightly at first so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. If you're struggling to draw the circle, just trace the outer rim of a small, circular object like a coin or a lid. For a more detailed guide on the different ways to draw a circle check out this tutorial: Four simple ways to draw a circle.
Step 2: Draw a long, curved, horizontal line across the circle as a guide to help you place the mole's facial features later. Add a curved, vertical line on the top, left side for another guide.
Step 3: Make a small mark on the far right side of the head for the first part of the guide for the body. This mark will determine the length of the mole's body, so don't draw it too close to the head. Now draw two long, curved, horizontal lines that connect the mark to the head to complete the guide for the body. The entire shape of the guide for the body should be similar to an oval with the head blocking the left side.
Step 4: Draw a long, curved line from the right side of the head to the bottom of the body as the guide for the mole's front leg. Draw another curved line on the left side of the head as a guide for the other front leg.
Step 5: On the lower, right side of the body, draw a short, curved line as a guide for the hind leg. To the right, draw another short, curved line as a guide for the mole's tail.
