Please PAUSE the "How to Draw a Snail" video after each step to draw at your own pace.
For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.

Step 1: Draw a circle as a guide for the first part of the snail's shell. The circle doesn't have to be perfect. It's just a guide. Leave enough room on the left side for the rest of the body.

Step 2: Draw a curved line on the left side of the circle as a guide for the second part of the shell. The line should curve at the top, then become flatter at the bottom.

Step 3: Draw a smaller circle to the left of the shell as a guide for the snail's head. This circle should be about one-fifth the size of the first one and should be placed on the lower left side of the shell.

Step 4: Draw four lines on top of the snail's head for the feelers or tentacles. The top two should be long, while the other two, more to the side, should be shorter.

Step 5: Draw a line under the shell as a guide for the soft part of the snail's body. Sketch lightly at first to get the line right. It stretches to the right and comes to a point.
