Please PAUSE the "How to Draw a Mouse (Cartoon)" video after each step to draw at your own pace.
Written step-by-step video tutorial:
For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.
Step 1: Draw two curved lines next to each other for the mouse's eyes. Sketch lightly at first so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. When you get the shape right, darken the lines and make them thick. The shape of the curved lines should be similar to half-circles. Pay attention to the placement of the curved lines. Don't draw them too far apart.
Step 2: Under each curved line, draw a small circle for the irises. The circle on the left should be close to the right tip of the line. The circle on the right, closer to the middle. Add a short line above each eye for the mouse's eyebrows.
Step 3: Inside each iris, off to the side, draw a tiny circle to represent glare. In the middle of each iris, draw a big dot for the mouse's pupils. Be careful not to shade the tiny glare circles as you draw the pupils.
Step 4: Below the eyes, slightly to the left, draw a small triangle for the mouse's nose.
Step 5: Below the nose, draw a small w-shaped line for the mouse's mouth. Add a small line under that for the chin.
