Below you can watch a Narrated step-by-step video tutorial:
For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake.
Step 1: Start by drawing two circles as guides for the Giganotosaurus' body. The circle on the right should be slightly smaller than the circle on the left. To draw each circle, first make four marks to determine its height and width. Then connect the marks using curved lines. If you're struggling to draw the circles, just trace the outer rim of circular objects like coins or bottle caps. For a more detailed guide on the different ways to draw a circle check out this tutorial: Four simple ways to draw a circle.
Step 2: On the top, right side, draw a smaller circle as a guide for the Giganotosaurus' head. This circle should be about half the size of the big body circle. On the right side of the head circle, draw two curved lines as guides for the jaws. Each line should be similar to an arc on its side. Pay attention to the sizes of the jaws in relation to the head.
Step 3: Under the big body circle, draw a two long, angled lines as guides for the Giganotosaurus' hind legs. Bend the lines near the middle to indicate the joints and again at the bottom for the feet. Under the circle in the middle, draw two shorter lines as guides for the arms.
Step 4: Connect the circles together using short, curved lines to finish the guide for the Dinosaur's body. On the left side, draw two long, wavy, horizontal lines to create the guide for the tail. The tail should be about the same length as the entire body. Make the base of the tail wide and the tip thin and pointy.
That's it for the guidelines! From this point on, press down harder with your pencil for a more defined drawing of a Giganotosaurus Dinosaur.
Step 5: Inside the top arc, draw a small circle for the Giganotosaurus' eye. Place the eye near the right, edge of the head circle. Make the sides of the shape pointy for the corners of the eye. Inside the eye draw two small circles for the pupil and for a highlight. Shade in the pupil. Draw a few lines around the eye for the bony structure. Above the eye, draw a series of short angled lines for the bony scales. Follow the path of the guide as you draw the scales.
Step 6: Darken the initial arc-like guides to create the Giganotosaurus' jaw. Make the lines a bit wavier as you darken them. The mouth should stretch farther to the left and inside the head circle. Draw a few lines inside the top jaw for structure and the nostril.
