To draw this Rhinoceros step by step, follow along with the video tutorial below and pause the video after each step to draw at your own pace. The following is a video tutorial where the steps are Written out within the video:

For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.

Step 1: Start with two circles next to each other as guides for the rhino's body. The circles are just guides, so it's okay if they're not perfect.

Step 2: Draw a slanted oval on the lower left side of the circles as a guide for the rhino's head.

Step 3: Draw two intersecting lines inside the oval. These will be guides to help you place the rhinoceros' facial features later on.

Step 4: Draw two arcs on top of the head for the rhino's ears.

Step 5: Draw two triangles (one small and one big) on the lower left side of the head for the rhinoceros' horns.

Step 6: Draw a series of curved lines that connect the major circles to form the body.

Step 7: Draw four curved lines below each circle as guides for the rhino's legs.

That's it for the initial sketch! From this point on, press harder with your pencil to get a more defined sketch.

Step 8: Above the area where the two lines intersect, draw the eye as a football shape with a circle inside of it. Shade in the circle. Draw a few lines around the rhino's eye to represent wrinkles.

Step 9: Using the bottom of the oval as a guide, draw in the muzzle. The rhino's mouth is to the right of the guide line. The nose is grazing the guide line on the left. Draw lines around them for detail.

Step 10: Tighten the shape of the rhino's ears by drawing quick, short strokes on top of them to represent hair. Draw small lines within them at the base of them for detail.

Step 11: Darken the horns and make them a bit more curved and rounder at the points.

Step 12: Draw in the rest of the rhino's head using the oval as a guide. Notice the forehead dips inward a bit.

Step 13: Using the lines as guides, draw the front legs. Sketch them in lightly at first so you're sure you like what you have before darkening. The rhino's feet bend forward slightly. Also draw what can be seen of the nails. Draw the other leg peeking from behind and draw some lines for wrinkles.

Step 14: Draw the rhinoceros' hind legs using the same technique. Be sure to bend them forward at the joints and draw some wrinkles.

Step 15: Use the initial lines as guides to draw the top of the rhinoceros' body. Draw the rhinoceros' tail as a couple of vertical lines with short strokes at the end to represent hair.

Step 16: Again using the guides, draw the bottom of the rhinoceros' body. Include wrinkles throughout it for detail.

Step 17 (optional): For a cleaner look, erase as much as you can of the initial guide lines. Don't worry about erasing all of them. It's okay to leave some behind.

Final Step (optional): You can add shading throughout the rhinoceros drawing to give it more dimension and volume. Pick the direction of the light source when shading so that the shadows are consistent with it. Vary the pressure on your pencil to get different degrees of tonal value. Add a cast shadow underneath. This helps ground the rhino so it doesn't appear to be floating. White rhinos are actually gray, so add more value to your drawing for extra detail. It's a good idea to reference to be as accurate as possible.
