The Written step-by-step video tutorial:
For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.
Step 1: Draw a big circle as a guide for the main part of the stingray's body. First make four small marks to indicate the circle's height and width. Then connect the marks using curved lines. Sketch lightly so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. If you're struggling to draw the circle, just trace the outer rim of a small, circular object like a coin or a lid. For a more detailed guide on the different ways to draw a circle check out this tutorial: Four simple ways to draw a circle.
Step 2: Starting at the bottom of the circle, draw a line that slopes to the right for the first part of the head. Draw a curved line from the top of the circle to the end of the first line to complete the guide for the stingray's head.
Step 3: Draw a line that starts at the bottom of the circle and then slopes to the left as a guide for the first wing. On the left, draw a vertical line that tilts to the right slightly for the side of the wing. Draw another sloping line at the top to finish the guide for the stingray's wing. The whole shape should be similar to a triangle.
Step 4: At the top, draw a line that connects the circle to the wing to form the guide for the rest of the stingray's body.
Step 5: On the top, right side, draw an angled line as a guide for the stingray's other wing. The resulting shape should be similar to a triangle.
