To draw this cartoon Cheetah step by step, follow along with the video tutorial below and pause the video after each step to draw at your own pace. You may find it easier to follow the step-by-step drawings below the video. The new lines in each step are shown in red, so you'll know exactly what to draw next. You may want to open the video in a new tab and use both drawing methods. Take your time and draw at your own pace.

For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.

Step 1: Draw two curved lines next to each other for this cute chibi cheetah's eyes. The lines should look like the letter C on its side. Make the lines thick and dark. Don't place the eyes too close together. Sketch lightly at first so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. When you get the shape and position of the eyes right, darken the lines. The eye on the right should be a bit smaller because this cartoon cat's head will be turned slightly.

Step 2: Under each curved line, draw a small circle for the irises. The circle on the right should be closer to the left edge of the cheetah's eye than the circle on the left.

Step 3: In the middle of each iris, draw a tiny circle and shade it in for the pupils. Don't make the chibi cheetah's pupils too big. Leave big area between the pupils and the edge of the irises. On the sides of each pupil, draw two tiny circles for highlights. You can also just draw one highlight circle on the side of each pupil if you don't have enough room. Above each eye, draw a short, curved, horizontal line for the cat's eyebrows.

Step 4: Below the eyes, off to the right, draw a small triangle for the cartoon cheetah's nose. Shade the inside of the nose except for a thin sliver at the top that represents shine.

Step 5: Below the nose, draw a wavy line that's similar to a wide letter W for the cheetah's mouth. Below the nose, draw a few short lines for the furry chin.

Step 6: To the left of the face, draw a long, curved line that's made up of tiny spike-like shapes for the cartoon cheetah's head. Pay attention to the distance from the face. Sketch the shape lightly at first. Then darken the lines.

Step 7: To the right of the face, draw another long, curved line that's made up of spiky shapes for the other side of the head. This shape should be closer to the cheetah's face than the other side of the head.

Step 8: On the top, left side, draw a big arc for the cartoon cheetah's first ear. Sketch lightly at first. Inside the arc, draw a short, curved line for the ear's inner structure. Along the bottom, draw a few spike-like shapes for the furry base of the ear.

Step 9: On the top, right side, draw a smaller arc for the cheetah's other ear. Draw a curved line and spike-like shapes within the arc for the ear's structure and fur.

Step 10: At the top, connect the ears using a curved line to form the top part of the head. In the middle of the top of the head, draw a few short, spike-like shapes for fur. Connect the inner edges of the eyes to the sides of the mouth for the distinctive cheetah tear pattern. Curve the lines outward at the bottom to create the shape of the cat's muzzle. The lines should be thin at the top and gradually become thicker toward the bottom.

Step 11: Under the head, draw a curved line that's made of short, spiky lines for the furry chest. The overall shape of the chibi cheetah's chest should be similar to a half-circle. Don't make the spiky lines to big.

Step 12: Under the chest, draw a short, cylindrical shape that's wider at the bottom for the first front leg. At the bottom, draw two curved lines for the toes. Leave enough space on the right side for the cheetah's other leg.

Step 13: To the right, draw a similar shape for the other front leg. Only draw the right edge of this leg. Curve the bottom of the shape outward for the foot. Draw two short, curved lines on the cheetah's foot for the toes.

Step 14: To the left, draw a big, tilted arc for the top part of the folded hind leg. Pay attention to the size of this arc. At the bottom, draw a long, horizontal shape for the foot under the leg. The front of the cheetah's hind foot should touch the front leg. Draw a couple of curved lines at the tip for the toes.

Step 15: On the left side, draw a long, curved line from the head to the hind leg for the rest of the chibi cheetah's body. Starting on the lower, left side, draw a long, wavy line for the first part of the cat's tail. Curve the top part of the line and then draw a parallel line to the left to make the shape of the tail thicker.

Step 16: Draw a series of small circles all over the head and body for the distinctive cheetah spots. You can shade in the spots now or leave them blank for now and fill them with ink in the next step. Leave the ears, the middle of the face, the chest and the feet blank (no spots). Your spots don't have to look exactly like mine. Just add random small spots all over the cartoon big cat's body. Drawing the spots can be take a while, so be patient and take breaks. On the tail, make the spots longer the higher up they are until they form stripes toward the tip.

Step 17: Go over the lines with a pen or marker to make your chibi cheetah drawing permanent. Take your time and be careful when you ink to avoid any accidents. After the ink dries, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser.

Final Step: Color your cartoon cheetah drawing using color pencils, markers or crayons! Use yellow-orange for the body. Leave these areas blank: the inner ears, a section above the eyes, the bottom of the head, the muzzle, the chest and the feet. For the eyes, use dark brown at the top and red at the bottom. Don't forget to pause to draw at your own pace.
