Step 6: Draw an arc similar to the letter U under the circle as a guide for the lower half of the fly's head.
Step 7: Draw a small angled line under the head as a guide for the fly's mouth and an arc on top of the body as a guide for the fly's wings. This arc should be long and thin and should mainly be above the abdomen.
Step 8: Draw three angled lines under the body as a guide for the fly's legs. Pay close attention to how the lines bend. This will indicate the joints go later on. Pause the video to get the lines right. The line on the right and middle point forward, while the line on the left points back.
That's it for the initial sketch! From this point on, press harder with your pencil to get a more defined sketch.
Step 9: Draw the fly's big compound eye inside the head. The eye takes up most of the space inside the head. The shape is slightly similar to an oval with a flat left side.
