The following is a video tutorial where the steps are Written out within the video:

For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.

Step 1: Draw a circle on the right side of the paper as a guide for the panda's head. It doesn't have to be perfect. It's just a guide.

Step 2: Inside the circle, draw two intersecting lines. These lines will help you place the panda's facial features later.

Step 3: On the bottom half of the main circle, draw a smaller circle as a guide for the panda's muzzle.

Step 4: Draw two arcs on top of the head as guides for the panda's ears.

Step 5: Draw two circles on the left side of the head as guides for the panda's body. Draw only a portion of the first circle since it sits behind the head. Pay close attention to the placement of the circles.

Step 6: Draw two curved lines to connect the big circles and complete the panda's body.

Step 7: Draw four angled lines below the body as guides for the panda's feet.

That's it for the initial sketch! From this point on, press harder with your pencil to get a more defined sketch.

Step 8: Draw two circles sitting on the horizontal line for the panda's eyes. Shade in the eyes except for a tiny portion to represent glare.

Step 9: Draw the panda's nose on the bottom part of the small circle. The nose is similar to an upside-down triangle with a couple of lines within it for the nostrils.

Step 10: Use the circle as a guide to draw the rest of the panda's muzzle. Surround the circle with quick, short strokes for a fuzzy look and bend the line toward the nose. Draw the panda's chin underneath it.

Step 11: Use the arcs as guides to draw the panda's ears. Use quick, short strokes for a furry look and draw some lines within the ears to represent the opening.

Step 12: Draw the rest of the panda's head using the main circle as a guide. Again use quick, short strokes to represent the fur. Make the panda's head a tiny bit wider.

Step 13: Using the lines as guides, draw the front legs. Sketch them in lightly at first, then darken them when you're satisfied with what you have. Go around the guide line to form the leg and make it thicker. The paw at the bottom is wide, and draw a couple of lines for the panda's toes. Do the same for the other leg. Sketch lightly at first, then darken your line when you're happy with what you have.

Step 14: Draw the panda's hind legs using the same technique as the front legs. Keep using quick, short strokes for the furry look. Don't forget to draw the panda's toes! Finish up the last leg. Some of it is hidden by the panda's body, so only draw the portion that's visible.

Step 15: Follow the initial lines and shapes to finish the panda's body. Draw the tail on the left side too.

Step 16 (optional): For a cleaner look, erase as much of you can of the initial guide lines. Don't worry about erasing all the guides. It's okay to leave some behind. Re-draw any final sketch lines you may have accidentally erased.

Final Step (optional): Now draw the panda's black patches. Draw two shapes surrounding the eyes, then shade them in. Shade in the panda's ears and make the nose darker too. The black patches extend from its back to the shoulders and all the way down to the feet. Shade in that entire section. Shade in the leg on the other side as well. The panda's hind legs are also dark, so shade those in too. Remember to pause the video or use reference if you need more help with the dark patches. You can add shading throughout your panda drawing to give it more dimension and volume. Pick the direction of the light source when shading so that the shadows are consistent with it. Vary the pressure on your pencil to get different degrees of tonal value. Add a cast shadow underneath. This helps ground the panda so it doesn't appear to be floating.
